A statement regarding Grassy Narrows River Run

The Ontario College of Teachers is aware of concerns related to a field trip made by several Toronto District School Board classes to the Grassy Narrows River Run event, as well as allegations that students were asked or permitted to participate in a protest in which inappropriate conduct is alleged to have occurred.

The College investigates complaints from various sources, including reports from members of the public, and reports made by employers in compliance with the requirements of the Ontario College of Teachers Act, 1996. The College is in the process of gathering information relating to this matter and will initiate investigations into alleged member misconduct where appropriate.
