Academic Records

You must arrange for your university to send to the College the academic records for all degrees and programs listed on your application form. The College will base its evaluation on these records. The documents received must contain the following information:

  • Course titles and marks per course
  • Dates you attended and length of program
  • Name of the degree and the date on which it was awarded
  • Be original and signed by the appropriate official.

Option 1:

Arrange for official transcripts and documents to be sent directly to the Ontario College of Teachers from the granting institution.

Transcripts can be issued by:

  • the university and must be sent by the university directly to the Ontario College of Teachers
  • the affiliated college and sent by either the college or the university directly to the Ontario College of Teachers.

Option 2:

Attested copies of degrees scrolls and marks cards sent directly from the university to the Ontario College of Teachers.

Document Requirements

If the documents, in whole or in part, are in a language other than English or French, we also require an official translation.

Statement of Professional Standing

A Statement of Professional Standing is required from the country, province or state where you completed your teacher education program, and from any other country, province or state where you are or have been certified to teach.

Teaching Certificate

You must send a photocopy of your teaching certificate from all jurisdictions where you are or have been authorized to teach. This applies even if you have never taught there.
