Council Meeting Summary
During its October 5 meeting, College Council:
- received a quarterly report from the Chair of Council
- received a quarterly report from the Registrar & CEO
- received a quarterly financial report for the period ending June 30, 2023
- approved the new College Strategic Plan
- received the College’s 2022 and final Transition to Teaching report, which will be replaced in 2023 with a new study called Focus on Teaching: A Survey of Ontario Certified Teachers
- received an update on existing and future Professional Advisories
- received a report of the Audit and Finance Subcommittee
- received a report of the Selection and Nominating Subcommittee and passed motions approving revisions to the Council competency matrix, a request to the Minister of Education to amend O. Reg. 563/21 (General) regarding term lengths, and appointment/reappointment recommendations for Council, committee and roster positions.
- received a report from the Accreditation Committee
- received a report from the Standards of Practice and Education Committee
- received various correspondence.
Following adjournment, Council moved into a private session to review the draft 2024 College budget, consider guidance on verifying Indigenous kinship, and receive a presentation on data, governance and security.
