Council Meeting Summary
During its December 11 meeting, College Council:
- received an address from the Hon. Paul Calandra, Minister of Education, who expressed appreciation for the College’s ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Education, in particular the work to eliminate barriers and expand leadership opportunities for technological education, Indigenous ancestry, and Indigenous languages teachers, as well as engaging with Indigenous partners to explore new pathways for initial certification that reflect the diversity of Indigenous cultures, histories, and languages.
- received a quarterly report from the Registrar & CEO.
- received a briefing note on the Governance Enhancement plan and engaged in a prioritization exercise.
- passed a motion approving the 2026 Council Education Sessions plan.
- received a report from the Audit and Finance Subcommittee.
- received a quarterly financial report for the period ending September 30, 2025.
- passed a motion approving the 2026 College budget with an unchanged annual membership fee of $200, while utilizing a draw from reserves to support operating and capital budget needs.
- received a report of the Selection and Nominating Subcommittee and approved the subcommittee’s recommendations for Council, committee and roster member appointments and reappointments, including the appointment of Joseph Fiorino as the new Chair of Council effective January 1, 2026.
- received a report from the Human Resources Subcommittee.
- moved into an in camera session to discuss the annual performance review of the Registrar & CEO.
- approved a motion to approve the Registrar/CEO Annual Performance Assessment policy.
- received a report from the Adjudicative Body of Chairs.
- received a report from the Fitness to Practise Committee.
- received a report from the Discipline Committee.
