Council Meeting Summary
During its December 7 meeting, College Council:
- received a quarterly report from the Chair of Council
- received a quarterly report from the Registrar & CEO
- received a schedule of 2024-2025 Council meeting dates
- received the proposed 2024 Council briefing and development plan
- received an update on the 2023 Focus on Teaching survey
- received a briefing note and passed a motion approving a request to the Minister of Education to amend O. Reg. 298 (Operation of Schools – General) regarding teaching assignment restrictions for Transitional Certificate licensees.
- received a report of the Audit and Finance Subcommittee
- received a quarterly financial report for the period ending September 30, 2023
- approved the College’s 2024 budget with an unchanged annual membership fee of $200.
- received a report of the Selection and Nominating Subcommittee and approved the subcommittee’s recommendations for Council subcommittee, committee and roster appointments and reappointments
- moved into a private session to deal with a human resources matter
- received a report of the Adjudicative Body of Chairs
- received a report of the Discipline Committee
- received a report of the Fitness to Practise Committee
- received various correspondence
- following adjournment, moved into a briefing session that included a presentation on best practices in professional regulation.
